Being injured by a dog can cause significant long-term physical and emotional injury. Connecticut makes all dog owners and keepers strictly liable (Connecticut General Statutes 22-357) for an injury caused by a dog as long as the injured party was not trespassing, teasing, tormenting or abusing the dog. The most common type of injury caused by a dog is a bite injury, but it is important to note that a dog does not actually have to bite you for you to be eligible for compensation.
